The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to Canyon Industries, Inc. to optimize designs for an Archimedes screw to be used in hydroelectric projects. The proposed project would be divided into two Budget Periods (BP), with a down select process between each. This NEPA review is for BP1 only.
BP1 would involve general office work such as research, data analysis, and reporting and would be completed jointly by several individual entities to include: Canyon Industries in Deming, WA; Nline Energy in El Dorado Hills, CA; Mechanical Solutions in Whippany, NJ; and Pacific Northwest National Lab in Richland, WA. BP1 activities would be limited to intellectual, academic, or analytical activities and would require no physical materials beyond standard office supplies and computer equipment.
