The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) proposes to provide financial and technical assistance South Carolina Emergency Management Division (SCEMD), Aiken, Allendale, and Barnwell Counties to support emergency preparedness, response activities and off-site recovery associated with a potential release of radiological or non-radiological materials from the DOE Savannah River Site (SRS). This project will maintain off-site emergency preparedness plans, training and operations support to provide reasonable assurance that the health and safety of the populace within the 10-mile emergency planning zone (EPZ) surrounding SRS are protected.
