The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to the City of Portland, OR to create a replicable approach to identify commercial buildings that present the best specific opportunities to improve energy performance. Its findings will impact city government practices and processes and expand the number of data sets that conform to established data standards and are publicly available for commercial use.
Activities associated with the proposed project would include the integration and computational analysis of data sets from multiple City of Portland agencies over a two-year period located within the same office building. The project would be assisted by contractors who work on computers within their respective office buildings and meet with the City of Portland on occasion. The proposed project would use no physical materials beyond basic office supplies and software.
