As part of Funding Opportunity Announcement (DE-FOA-0001621) the Department of Energy (DOE) is soliciting applications from Indian Tribes (including Alaska Native Regional Corporations and Village Corporations) and Tribal Energy Resource Development Organizations to help build the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to implement energy solutions by initiating the first steps toward developing and sustaining renewable energy and energy efficiency on Tribal Lands.
For awards selected under this FOA, anticipated project activities would consist of: conducting energy options analyses; establishing baseline energy use and efficiency options; developing/establishing energy organizations; conducting climate resiliency planning; establishing policy, regulations, and codes to reduce energy use or promote energy development; and obtaining training and increasing skills, knowledge base, awareness, and expertise related to energy use and development. All anticipated project activities would consist exclusively of intellectual, academic, analytical activities and technical advice/assistance.
