The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to Solar Dynamics LLC to develop the conceptual design for a Dispatchable Solar Power (DSP) Plant and analyze the technical, cost, and commercialization aspects of using Molten-Salt Tower technology.
Activities associated with the proposed project would include preliminary engineering and design tasks, economic and cost analyses, performance calculations, outreach to utilities and other stakeholders, and meetings with vendors. All work would be conducted at the offices of Solar Dynamics LLC in Broomfield, CO and Sargent & Lundy LLC in Chicago, IL. The proposed project would use no physical materials beyond basic office supplies and software.
