The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to EnergyBin LLC to create a robust online marketplace that facilitates the brokering, movement and commerce of new, unused, excess inventory, refurbished components, replacement parts, and other grey good products that are currently underutilized in the U.S. solar market.

Activities associated with the proposed project would include the development and launch of the “EnergyBin.com” platform and related interface, and recruitment, education, and support of the EnergyBin community in the use of the platform and development of this new community marketplace. These activities would be completed from EnergyBin LLC’s offices in Rochester, MN. As proposed, the project would be limited exclusively to intellectual, academic, or analytical activities and would use no physical materials beyond basic office supplies and software.
