The purpose of this work is to better understand the proposed flowsheet for the discard of contaminated bulk graphite materials. SRNL has proposed a chemical method for digesting the graphite and placing the radioactive components in a chemical state that can be dispositioned separately. This study will be performed in the SRNL Engineering Development Laboratory without the use of radioactive materials.
