The Hanford Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) Low Activity Waste (LAW) melter will generate a large volume of recycle condensate. These aqueous streams originate from the Submerged Bed Scrubber (SBS) and Wet Electrostatic Precipitator (WESP) in the LAW melter building. SRNL will study the chemistry of these condensates including solids formation in lab scale simulant studies performed at the Aiken County Technology Lab. This includes ion exchange for cesium, strontium, and perrhenate.
