The Department of Energy is proposing to provide funding to Trenton Biogas LLC., for the engineering design to retrofit an existing sludge treatment facility for an anaerobic digestion system that would generate biogas and agricultural amendments using pre- and post-consumer organics as the feedstock. No final design, site preparation or construction activities are included in the scope of this proposed project. The existing facility is the idled Mercer County Sludge Treatment at 1600 Lambertson Road, Trenton, NJ.
This project would result in a design package containing a conceptual design, a site plan, conceptual engineering and detailed engineering. Additionally, external reviews of the facility’s overall approach and its specific technology and business-strategy decisions, including financial modeling would be completed to develop a business plan.
