The proposed activity is to remove Normal Cooling Water (NCW) that leaked from the header located in the women’s change room on 1st level of 221-H. The leak was due to a failed pipe line coming off the NCW header. Currently, the water extends from Section 3 to Section 6 on the 1st level in the personnel areas (both the clean areas and the Radiological Buffer Area [RBA]). The water is migrating towards the section 3 personnel tunnel (an RBA). The current path forward is to use portable pumps and hosing to pump the water from the Section 3 tunnel to Segregated Return Manhole P-28. An estimated 10,000 to 20,000 gallons of standing water will be moved towards section 3 until the bulk of the leak is pumped to the P-28 return.
