The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to Southwest Research Institute to design, build, and test a full-frame integrally Geared Compander (IGC) to replace the multi-shaft, multi-speed power blocks proposed by current concentrated solar power (CSP) configurations.
