The Bureau of Reclamation and California Department of Water Resources prepared a revised draft EIS for the Project would include a new offstream surface storage reservoir (Sites Reservoir) with two main dams, up to nine saddle dams, and up to five recreation areas. The Sites Reservoir would be filled through the diversion of available Sacramento River flows via two existing diversions/canals (all alternatives) and a proposed new inlet diversion/outlet structure and pipeline (majority of alternatives).
