DOE’s Loan Programs Office (LPO) prepared an environmental assessment (EA) and issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for StarPlus Energy, LLC, Battery Plants, Kokomo, Indiana (DOE/EA-2263). The EA evaluates the environmental impacts of providing a loan for new battery production, assembly, and ancillary facilities to produce the lithium-ion batteries needed to power Stellantis’ fleet of battery-electric-vehicles.
