The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) is considering whether to issue a loan guarantee of a funding facility to the Alabama Power Company (APC). In its application, HECO has identified the Crooked Creek-Georgia 115kV Transmission Line Rebuild Project (Project) for inclusion in the funding facility that is the subject of DOE’s loan guarantee. The Project will rebuild approximately 29.6 miles of existing overhead transmission line infrastructure within its existing 100-foot right-of-way between the existing Crooked Creek substation and the existing Indian Creek substation at the Georgia-Alabama border.
