The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to University of California San Diego (UCSD) to develop a hybrid physics-based/data-driven forecast model (Hybrid Adaptive Input Model Objective Selection ensemble model – ‘HAIMOS’) to improve direct normal and global horizontal irradiance (DNI and GHI) prediction for horizons ranging from 1 to 72 hours.
