In this Final Rulemaking, DOE proposes to adopt energy conservation standards for single package vertical units. The proposed standards are shown in Table 1.1 of the Final Rule. These proposed standards, if adopted, would apply to all products listed in Table 1.1. The standards that are set at levels more stringent then in ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2013 apply to such equipment manufactured in, or imported into, the United States on or after the date four years after the publication of the final rule for this rulemaking. The standards that are set at levels contained in ASHRAE Standards 90.1-2013 apply to such equipment manufactured in or imported into, the United States on or after the date two years (for single package vertical air conditioners less than 65,000 Btu/h) and three years (for single package vertical heat pumps less than 65,000 Btu/h) after the effective date of the requirements in ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2013.
