The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to Salt Lake City Corporation for the development, publishing, and dissemination of four white papers that outline actionable, aggressive, long-term solar photovoltaic deployment plans for Utah’s Wasatch Region and that address immediate barriers necessary to advance Utah’s nascent solar market.
The proposed activities include the 1) completion of a net energy metering data analysis, 2) development of a10-year Solar Deployment Plan, 3) creation of a model solar deployment strategy for emergency preparedness in the health care industry and 4) development of guidelines and an implementation plan for a Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy program for Utah. The proposed project would be limited exclusively to intellectual, academic, or analytical activities and would use no physical materials beyond basic office supplies and software.
