The Department of Energy is proposing to provide funding to the City of Gridley, CA to collect and analyze data provided by technology providers to assess the feasibility of converting rice harvest waste into renewable fuel. The feasibility study would include technology feasibility, environmental assessments, technology integration, conceptual designs of a commercial plant, economic modeling, and the commercial readiness of the selected technologies. This NEPA determination is for Budget Period 2/Phase 2. No construction activities are a part of Budget Period 2/Phase 2.
