SMUD will replace failing direct buried underground electric cable with ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) cable in conduit. The project involves replacing approximately 350,000-400,000 circuit feet of direct buried cable with new cable encased in a conduit duct bank within the existing right-of-way. The project also involves the installation of new manholes and pull boxes along the routes to allow electric cable pulling, splicing, and maintenance.
