CX-034361: Light-Water Reactor Fuels Testing in Idaho National Laboratory’s Advanced Test Reactor R1

This proposal involves the irradiation testing and PIE of six Cr-coated Zr-alloy-clad LWR fuel rods in the existing pressurized water loop at Advanced Test Reactor (ATR). Revision 1: Two to eight rodlets will be fabricated from existing rods of fresh fuel provided by Japanese Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA)/Mitsubishi during the onset of this ongoing project. Agreed upon by both Idaho National Laboratory (INL) and JAEA, and as a result of work to date on the six original fuel pins, this increase in rodlets is due to a redesign of the experiment to follow Advanced Test Reactor's (ATR) Loop-2A cycle 173B.
