April 3, 2025The proposed project includes replacement of 1.5 miles of transmission and distribution lines, which serves 3,429 meters. Specifically, this upgrade includes replacing 38 wooden poles with 29 ductile iron poles, replacing wooden cross-arms with fiberglass cross-arms, upgrading the wire from 336kcmil to 795kcmil, replacing porcelain insulators with polymer insulators, and the addition of Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) which provides lightning protection and fiber optics lines for communications. The upgrade will also provide redundancy for the grid, with two lines running parallel: the north-side will upgrade an existing transmission line to a hardened transmission line, and the south-side line will replace an outdated distribution line with an updated transmission line.
