Small quantities of fresh and irradiated AGR compacts, TRISO particles, and matrix material will also be characterized in Irradiated Materials Characterization Laboratory (IMCL). The scope of work includes, sample preparation, such as sample cutting, polishing, mounting in epoxy, and sample characterization, such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), focused ion beam microscopy (FIB), micro x-ray computed tomography (micro CT), x-ray diffraction (XRD), atom probe tomography (APT), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and thermophysical property measurement.
