The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding the University of Minnesota’s Natural Resources Research Institute (NRRI) to design, fabricate, and test engineered biochar used in an electric arc furnace (EAF) for steel production, and to achieve commercial scale production.
