CX-027617: Converting CO2 in Flue Gas and Alkaline Solid Wastes to Carbon-Negative Alternative Cement for Precast Concrete Units

(1) computer-based techno-economic analysis and life cycle assessment, (2) design and development of a bench-scale electrochemical reactor, (3) lab-scale synthesis of formic acid from simulated flue gas containing CO2 with subsequent synthesis of oxalic acid, (4) lab-scale synthesis of cement using oxalic acid and industrial solid wastes, (5) scaling-up production for development of a prototype system for creating precast concrete units using the aforementioned processes, and (6) testing the concrete properties using established ASTM guidelines.
