May 30, 2019Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), Rocky Mountain Region (RMR), proposes to relocate existing Structure 22/16 on its Guernsey Rural-Wheatland South (GW-WHS) 69-kV Transmission Line in Platte County, Wyoming. The current existing wood single-pole structure will be removed and a new wood single-pole structure will be installed 60 feet south of the current structure location. The purpose of the project is to move the existing structure away from a road intersection where it is creating a hazard to motorists. The project will relocate the structure to nearby private property and improve safe passage of vehicles. Work will include removing the existing structure, backfilling the old structure hole, auguring a new structure hole, placing the new structure, and installing all ancillary hardware on the new structure. Work will occur on private lands. Equipment may include bucket trucks, truck-mounted augers and cranes, skid-steer loaders, utility trucks, pole trailers, and equipment trailers. All work will be confined to WAPA’s right-of-way (ROW). The work site will be accessed from existing roads, and no road maintenance or road construction would occur.
