February 22, 2019Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), Rocky Mountain Region (RMR), proposes to conduct routine maintenance of the existing access roads along approximately 40 miles of the Curecanti-Poncha (CCI-PON) 230-kV transmission line. The work will occur between Structures 7/2 near WAPA’s Curecanti Substation (CCI) located near Cimarron, Colorado and Structure 46/3 located near Parlin, Colorado. Access road maintenance may include: blading; grading; removal of rocks and other obstacles impeding safe travel; repair, replacement, and installation of water bars, rip-rap, and other erosion control measures; and cleanout, repair, and replacement of culverts and other drainage features. Access road widening or new construction is not authorized.
