The G-Area Oil Seepage Basin is located southeast of N-Area and is approximately 150 feet long and 95 feet wide. The depth of the basin ranges from 10 feet to 16 feet below ground surface. The sediments at the bottom of the basin contain pesticides that are a threat to the environment. The remedy selected includes dewatering of the basin, controlled-compaction backfilling of the G-Area Oil Seepage Basin to the natural grade with clean soil, and construction of a soil and vegetative cover over the basin footprint. Dewatering will include land application/irrigation. The area selected for irrigation is a stand of pine trees nearby.
