GreenLight Biosciences, in conjunction with University of Michigan and Iowa State University, proposes to conduct small-scale, laboratory based, research and development of methanotroph and Escherichia coli extracts. The proposed activities aim to develop bioreactors capable of converting methane to liquid transportation fuels such as isobutanol.
