Funding will support the project team's small-scale research and development activities to develop a breakthrough, modular, mass-producible, textbook-size converter capable of 10 kilowatt or greater that can fit onto a single circuit board. Specifically, the project team will (1) conduct a converter simulation study; (2) design, CX: Build and test an initial prototype using commercial off-the-shelf devices; (3) design and build a final prototype and incorporate custom features; and (4) demonstrate both prototypes with a real photovoltaic source.
