The concentrations of the volatile organic compounds (VOC) trichloroethylene (TCE) and tetrachloroethylene (PCE) at recovery well RWM 17D have been less than the maximum contaminant limit (MCL) (i.e., 5 ppm) since 2001. The well has been dry since 2004. Environmental Compliance & Area Completion Projects (EC&ACP) submitted a program plan to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) to abandon the well (SRNS-J2000-2016-00285.pdf).
