The purpose of this work is to better understand the proposed flowsheet for the discard of contaminated bulk graphite materials. Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) has proposed a chemical oxidation for digesting the graphite and placing the radioactive components in a chemical state that can be dispositioned separately.
