Bonneveille Power Administration (BPA) is proposing to fund the Willamalane Park and Recreation District purchase of the Thurston Hills property (Property), a 106-acre parcel of land located southeast of Springfield in Lane County, Oregon. The Willamalane Parks and Recreation District will own and manage the Thurston Hills property for wildlife conservation purposes and BPA will receive a conservation easement to ensure that the habitat values on the property are always protected. This funding partially fulfills commitments made in the 2010 “Willamette River Basin Memorandum of Agreement Regarding Wildlife Habitat Protection and Enhancement between the State of Oregon and the Bonneville Power Administration”.
