DOE proposes to adopt amended energy conservation standards for commercial refrigeration equipment. The proposed standards consist of maximum daily energy consumption (MDEC) values as a function of either refrigerated volume or total display area (IDA). DOE proposes that the standards covered in this Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPR), if adopted, would apply to all equipment listed in Table 1.1 of the NOPR and manufactured in, or imported into, the United States on or after 3 years after the publication date of the final rule, or January 1, 2016.
