Two new sample holders or "clamps" have been designed by Savannah River National Laboratory for use with an existing Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA). They will both hold an electrolyte, and will be used to test the dynamic mechanical properties of test samples immersed in the electrolyte at controlled temperatures. One clamp will test in compression, and the other in tension.
