The University of North Dakota Energy and Environmental Research Center proposes to use the Department of Energy funding to demonstrate the feasibility of converting biomass into alternative forms of energy. Phase 3 activities include: small-scale biomass conversion; bench and pilot scale conversion of biomass to liquid fuels; renewable fuels to heat, power and products; project management and strategic studies; fuels of the future research and development laboratory; and educational activities and outreach.
