A microwave accelerated reaction system (MARS) will be used to synthesize various metal oxides and oxyhydroxides from the corresponding metal nitrates (Aluminiun, Iron, Manganese, Nickel) and sodium hydroxide. In addition, sodium titanate materials will be synthesized from titanium isopropoxide and titanium dioxide.
