Minnesota State Energy Office will give $10,000 to Eric Binford who installed an 11 ton geothermal system with horizontal heat exchange piping. Total excavation was approximately 20 feet wide by 400 feet long by 8 feet deep. No deforesting was required. The surrounding area is cultivated farmland. There were no adverse effects to threatened and endangered species or critical habitat as these resources are not present at the project site.
