The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) proposes to use federal funds to implement a study that will analyze the feasibility of an offshore wind farm. The wind farm would be located 10 miles south of Long Island New York in the Atlantic Ocean. LIPA proposes to use desktop studies, visual simulations, public outreach, and cost analysis. Based on findings, LIPA will release requests for proposals for economic and environmental feasibility.
