SUMMARY: Catalog Of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA.gov) site is now retired and CFDA’s are now Assistance Listings.

As of May 2018, CFDA is called Assistance Listings. All CFDA.gov functionality and data can now be found on https://beta.SAM.gov.

https://beta.SAM.gov is now the official home for assistance listings and CFDA.gov has been retired.

Federal users should create a user account, migrate their roles from CFDA and officially manage their listing here.

Entity and public users may search for assistance listings, create a user account and save searches.

For a government user new to https://beta.SAM.gov, the first step is creating a new user account. This is required for all users who had an account in CFDA.gov. Once you create your account you will be able to transition any roles you previously had by going to role migration in your profile. If you are unable to migrate your role, you can request a role by going to your Profile page, selecting "My Roles" from the left hand menu, and then select "Request Role". You will be asked to enter in your supervisor name and will also need to select the organization for which you want to manage assistance listings.

Here are some helpful tips you can use as you begin working in beta.SAM.gov:

• Go to the advanced tab when selecting an organization. If you don’t see your organization in the drop down menu, simply type the name in the box. There is no need to select an office at this time.

• If you cannot migrate your role, request a new assistance user role from your profile page. Your supervisor’s name is required as part of requesting a role so the assistance administrator in your organization can reach out - your supervisor is not required to approve your request.

• When providing answers to your security questions or creating a password, do not use information about yourself such as name or email. A password that

contains more than two consecutive characters of your name is not allowed. Your password must contain 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, 1 number, and 1 special character. Security question answers are case sensitive and spaces are allowed. If you experience problems on the registration page, reloading the page may resolve those issues.

• A one time numeric code is required every time you login or when your session times out. This pass code is provided either by email or text message to your phone depending on the preference selected in your profile. If you experience a delay in receiving the passcode via your government email, the phone option may be faster. Use caution when you type or paste the number as it must match exactly.

• At this time, a change request option to change the agency for an individual listing is not fully functional. If you need to request an organizational change for a listing, send your request to newsamtesting@gsa.gov.

There are several series of videos which will walk you through the processes for creating an account, role migration, data entry, and search. Another option to assist you with the transition are searchable FAQs and the glossary found in the Learning Center. Use the links below to go directly to this information:

Government users may send requests for support to newsamtesting@gsa.gov. At this time, you don’t need to contact FSD for support with your account setup or role migration - you can use this mailbox.
