The Annual Historical Summary (AHS) is a collection of the most significant accomplishments of the U.S Department of Energy Office of Legacy Management (LM) during calendar year 2025. These accomplishments demonstrate LM’s commitment to its mission to safeguard human health, environments, and public properties bound to the nation’s post-closure responsibilities at former atomic defense sites.

The 2025 AHS highlights LM’s commitment to long-term stewardship at LM sites, educational programming at LM interpretive centers, and various events, activities, and accomplishments across LM.

Prior to the publication of this document starting in 2016, LM published three- and five-year summaries, when DOE established LM in 2003. These summaries and the AHS provide historical perspectives for future stakeholders and historians.
