Background Information
On December 13, 2022, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced up to $100 million in funding toward the Carbon Utilization Procurement Grants Program, which will provide grants to support the commercialization of technologies that reduce carbon emissions while also procuring and using commercial or industrial products developed from captured carbon emissions.
This notice of intent (NOI) is issued so that interested parties are aware of the DOE’s intention to issue a funding opportunity announcement in the near term. Any information contained in this NOI is subject to change without notice. Full applications are not being accepted at this time.

Eligible applicants include states, local governments, and public utilities.

This notice of intent has one area of interest:
- Demonstration grants supporting the procurement and use of carbon conversion products derived from anthropogenic carbon oxides.
Expected Funding
DOE expects to provide grants totaling up to $100 million with a minimum of a 50% cost-sharing from the awardees.
