Roles for Artificial Intelligence in Support of FECM RDD&D Priorities

AI Needs in Critical Program Areas

As one step toward prioritizing AI development activities, FECM is exploring specific roles for AI in meeting the top RDD&D needs identified in the FECM Strategic Vision. These documents summarize a series of discussions in which a range of specialists from FECM, NETL, and the DOE Office of Science suggested potential roles for AI in each of the strategic technology areas. These documents should be viewed as a representative sample of the types of AI applications that may be needed. In addition to the individual programmatic summary documents, the FECM Implementation Pathway for Responsible Artificial Intelligence document provides a more comprehensive overview of FECM’s efforts to take full advantage of AI ever evolving capabilities.
