We are going to have lighter weight vehicles, much more fuel-efficient power trains, clean fuel that produces no greenhouse gas emissions, and so on.

Today, our focus is on anything that could improve energy efficiency in vehicles.

The United States Department of Energy has been a great partner for the Center for Automotive Research at Ohio State for many many years.

First of all, we’ve been a participant in the Advanced Vehicles Technology Competitions (AVTC) that have been promoted by the U.S. Department of Energy since the late 1980s.

The second part of our longtime partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy has been the Graduate Automotive Technology Education, or GATE Program.
