Federal Tax Deduction Qualified Software

Projects shall refer to the Announcement 2023-1 in order to determine the appropriate Reference Standard. For properties placed into service on or before December 31, 2020, the energy and power cost shall be compared with the minimum requirements of ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2007.

Projects placed into service on or after January 1, 2023, will follow new guidance based on the Inflation Reduction Act signed into law by President Biden on August 16, 2022. New information will be published here in the coming months based on IRS published guidance.

Qualified Software List

This section lists software that can be used to model systems and buildings conforming to the requirements of the 179D tax deduction. Software provides can submit new versions for approval at their discretion.
