The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) released the 2024 EERE Investment Snapshot, an expansive summary of the scientific, technical, and economic achievements facilitated by EERE funding in recent years. The 60-page document features data, case studies, and success stories from every program in the EERE portfolio.

For decades, EERE has used targeted investments in applied research and development, demonstration and deployment expertise, in-kind technical assistance, and its unique convening power to drive energy innovation in select industries and technologies. While each field in EERE’s portfolio has seen remarkable progress, the Investment Snapshot focuses on EERE’s impact and outcomes as a whole—showing how sustained investment in EERE can continue to benefit the United States. 

The Investment Snapshot features nearly 2,000 active EERE awards across the United States, highlighting the tangible benefits of energy advancements felt by ordinary Americans. As the Investment Snapshot demonstrates, EERE-backed energy innovations are:
