AMO Announces Seven Projects Selected to Support the Electric Grid with CHP Technology

AMO announced up to $10 million for seven projects to conduct research and development of technologies that enable small to midsized manufacturers to use combined heat and power (CHP) systems to provide services to the electric grid. The awarded projects will focus on two areas of interest: (1) Power Electronics and Control Systems and (2) Electricity Generation Components.

Thirteen New Projects Selected to Advance High Performance Computing in Manufacturing 

AMO recently announced nearly $3 million for 13 new projects selected to join the High Performance Computing for Manufacturing (HPC4Mfg) program. Led by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, in partnership with Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, the HPC4Mfg program enables innovation in U.S. manufacturing by leveraging world-class technical expertise with high-performance computing to tackle manufacturing challenges uniquely solved by computer modeling.

Tennessee Valley Authority Partners with DOE to Support Innovation Crossroads’ Entrepreneurs

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) recently announced its support of the next cohort of Innovation Crossroads fellows at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Through this partnership, TVA will provide funding to support the entrepreneurs focusing on energy-related topics such as grid reliability and emerging technologies.

Innovation Crossroads is one of three Lab-Embedded Entrepreneurship Programs designed to embed top technical post-doctoral talent within national laboratories as research fellows with the goal of subsequently launching businesses.
