Smart Grid, Public Service Company of New Mexico, Demonstration of Utility-scale 3MW Zinc-Bromine Flow Battery; Bernalillo County , New Mexico

Based on the analysis in the environmental assessment, DOE determined that the proposed action - providing federal asssitance to Public Service Company of New Mexico to facilitate the installation of an advanced absorbed valve-regulated lead acid battery for voltage smoothing and peak shifting - would result in no significant adverse impacts.

The Department of Energy (DOE) is seeking comments from interested parties on policy and logistical challenges that confront smart grid implementation, as well as recommendations on how to best overcome those challenges.
