Grid Deployment Office Leadership Team will Continue to Advance President Trump’s Agenda to Unleash American Energy
September 26, 2025Washington, D.C.—Today the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Grid Deployment Office (GDO) announces a restructured leadership team, including the departure of Director Nick Elliot to the National Energy Dominance Council where he will serve as Senior Policy Advisor. The office will now be led by previous Senior Advisor Tina Francone as GDO continues to advance President Trump’s agenda to unleash American energy at home and restore energy dominance abroad.
Under this new leadership and in support of President Trump’s Executive Order, “Strengthening the Reliability and Security of the United States Electric Grid,” GDO will continue to focus on strengthening grid reliability, security, and affordability for the American people. This includes exercising all lawful authorities to catalyze development of the critical infrastructure needed to strengthen the nation’s grid.
Since its inception, the GDO has worked to meet electricity challenges by catalyzing the development of new and upgraded electric infrastructure across the country, maintaining and investing in critical generation facilities such as nuclear energy, and supporting the deployment of high-capacity electric transmission lines nationwide.
Ms. Francone brings extensive experience in the business, local government and infrastructure sectors to GDO. As Director, she will provide strategic direction and guidance on the office’s approach to critical capacity and grid expansion to support the Trump Administration’s agenda for restoring American energy dominance.
