Evaluating Air-Source Heat Pumps with Distributed Energy Resources in REopt

May 14, 2025, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. ET
FEMP IACET: 0.2
Level: Introductory

This training introduces attendees to NREL's REopt® web tool and its capabilities in evaluating air-source heat pumps (ASHP) alongside distributed energy resources (DERs).

Designed for energy managers, facility operators, and sustainability managers, this session will explore how REopt provides techno-economic analysis to assess the financial viability of ASHP while identifying synergies with solar PV and battery storage. Participants will gain practical insights into using REopt to optimize energy strategies, reduce costs, and improve site resilience.

About FEMP Training

The Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) provides live and on-demand training to foster and maintain a high-performance workforce that constructs, operates, and maintains cost-effective federal facilities. Choose from topics like project financing, facility and fleet optimization, fleet management, resilience, sustainable product procurement, and more.

FEMP is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and awards IACET continuing education units (CEUs) upon the successful completion of select courses. FEMP training is provided through the National Institute of Building Sciences' Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG) learning management system.
