DOE O 231.1, Environment, Safety, And Health Reporting, requires the submission of an Annual Fire Protection Summary. The previous process used to collect the required data utilizes a Microsoft Access database that was downloaded, completed by the field and then sent to Headquarters for summation and analysis by engineers in Office of Sustainability Support.

Data collection for the CY2013 Summary will begin Jan. 1, 2014, and a commitment has been made to the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board to collect this information and make it available utilizing a standard systematic approach. This approach will be accomplished via a web based system which will allow reporting organizations to enter or edit information.

A summary of fire protection information for the preceding year must be submitted to the fire protection database by April 30 in accordance with the Annual Fire Protection Summary Information Reporting Guide.
